You kick a ball whose mass is 0.43 kg. The ball leaves your foot with an initial speed of 25 m/s. What is the magnitude of the impulse associated with the force of your foot on the ball? If your foot is in contact with the ball for 8.0 ms, what is the magnitude of the average force exerted by your foot on the ball?

The impulse delivered to the ball equals the change in the ball’s momentum. The impulse is also the product of the average force exerted on the ball and the time during which the average force acts.
