How would your orientation to life—your ideas, attitudes, values, and goals—be different if you had been reared in a hunting and gathering society?

A hunting and gathering society differs greatly from our modern urban societies. In a hunting and gathering society I would place great value into the relationships in my local community and would likely live in close proximity to my extended family members. The relationships of those in the community would become a major priority as we would be required to work together for our survival. 
I would also place a greater value on the food itself and the environment that sustains it. Without industrial and agricultural advancements, food would be undoubtedly more scarce and difficult to obtain. Hunting and gathering societies also tend to experience higher mortality rates due to the large dependency on environmental conditions.   

If I lived in a hunting and gathering society, I would have a much greater respect for nature. Since I would be living off of the land, I would respect the land, treat it well, and understand the need to preserve it. I also would also have a respect for nature and for the animals that lived on the land. My livelihood would depend on the land and nature, and, as a result, I would need to respect both the land and nature.
In a society that is not considered to be a hunting and gathering society, there would be less respect for the land and for nature. Our jobs provide us with a living, and there is less need to consider the importance of land and nature. We tend to look at the world through the lens of progress. This includes how much we produce, how much money we make, how many new products are created, and how much growth and expansion occurs. These goals tend to be less focused on nature, especially the preservation of it.
