Rudi Scherz is a petty criminal and hotel employee who acts as a gunman for hire as part of an elaborate deception.
Dora Bunner (or "Bunny") is an old friend of Letitia/Charlotte. Mitzi is a servant, and Miss Murgatroyd is a neighbor.

The play A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie includes the main characters Jane Marple and Inspector Dermot Eric Craddock.
Jane Marple is a middle-aged amateur detective who is cunning and excited to help with the murder case. She is unique because she is an outsider, and that gives her a clear advantage in helping discover the murderer. This also helps her because she is able to easily go unnoticed in a room. While sitting and gossiping, Jane listens and observes human nature to solve crimes.
Inspector Craddock is a professional police detective who is head of the murder case. He is suspicious of the individuals at the scene at first and carries out a "test" to examine the situation; this shows he is very thorough and intelligent. Craddock is also described as an honest man. He admits early on that he does not know all the details and facts about the individuals involved in the case, and he is willing to ask for help.
