3w*v is the dot product of two vectors, i.e. a scalar. (3w*v)*u is the product of this scalar and a vector, so it is a vector.
3w*v= (3*lt3,-1gt)*lt-4,2gt = lt9,-3gt*lt-4,2gt = 9*(-4)+(-3)*2=-42.
And (3w*v)*u=(-42)*lt3,3gt = lt-126,-126gt.
