Why is chapter 8 called "There Has Been a Death?"

It is necessary for Uncle Henrik and his group to get needed supplies to those who were going to be smuggled to Sweden. By claiming that a death had occurred, they could bring the coffin into the house that would be loaded with supplies such as coats and sweaters needed for the escape. It would be too risky to carry those supplies by hand into the house.
If the German police were to ask why so many people had come to the house, they could be told that somebody had died and that these people were coming for a funeral and to pay their respects to the family of the deceased. They also could say that the casket was closed because the deceased person had died from a contagious disease such as typhus.
This idea was part of an elaborate plan that was developed to reduce the chances that they would be caught helping these Jewish people escape to Sweden.
