How did the French and Indian War affect the relationship between British government and the colonies?

I am assuming this question is referring to the effects of the French and Indian War on the relationship between Great Britain and its American colonies. The answer is that it set in motion several developments that eventually led to the American Revolution. First, the French and Indian War ended with the British receiving all lands formerly possessed by the French in North America. This included contested territory west of the Appalachian Mountains. In an effort to alleviate the expense of fortifying the frontier, King George III issued the Proclamation of 1763, which banned settlement west of the Appalachians. This angered many Americans, who wished to move into the Ohio Valley, and soured relations with the British government.
The French and Indian War was very expensive, and the debt incurred in the conflict led the British to seek to reform the imperial relationship with its colonies. For one thing, Parliament sought to regulate trade more tightly, enforcing laws that banned import from outside the Empire. For another, the British imposed the Stamp Act in an effort to raise revenue. Both of these measures outraged many colonists, some of whom reached the conclusion that Parliament had no right to tax the colonies at all, since they had no representation in that body. So the outcome of the French and Indian War contributed to the rapid decline of relations between the colonies and the British government.
