Beginning Algebra With Applications, Chapter 5, Review Exercises, Section Review Exercises, Problem 20

Graph $f(x) = 5x+1$

Think of the function as the equation $\displaystyle y = 5x+1$. The graph is a straight line with the $y$-intercept $(0,1)$ and slope $5$. Graph the point $(0,1)$. From the $y$-intercept, go right 1 unit and then up 5 units. Graph the point $(1,6)$. Draw a line through the two points.
