Jonas, the protagonist of The Giver, feels trapped in his community because the community does not allow him to be close to people and imposes unfair and brutal laws (such as the impending release, or death, of Gabriel). In addition, Jonas feels trapped because he wants to share some of the rich, vivid memories that he has received from the current Giver with the people around him, but he is not allowed to do so. Jonas clearly also questions the existing system, as he dislikes the rules that dictate that people who do not perfectly fit into the community must be "released" (a euphemism for being killed), and he feels frustrated with the way in which the other members of his community can't experience emotions or choose their own path through life.
Jonas tries to change the system. He plans, with the Giver, to escape from the community. His escape will cause all the memories to be released from him into the wider community, helping other people come to terms with all of the memories and emotions they've been protected from. At the end of the book, it's unclear whether Jonas, escaping with Gabriel, has achieved the change he wants. He sits poised on top of a hill, about to enter a village on a sled. It's not clear whether Jonas fails or not in his attempt to change the system.

Which of these 4 statements (feels trapped, questions existing systems, tries to change the system or escape, fails in his intent to change or escape) applies to the protagonist (Jonas) of The Giver. You have to select all of the statements that apply, and give detailed reasons why the elements you chose apply to the protagonist.
